The legendary Dr. Ralph Stanley and The Clinch Mountain Boys

Although he needs no introduction, we'll go ahead and give him one anyway. Ralph was born in thingyenson County, Virginia, where he still resides when he's not on the road. As a recording artist, he has performed on more than 170 albums, tapes, and CDs over a 55 year career.
The bluegrass legend is one of the most highly decorated musicians in history. The short list of recognitions would include receiving the Living Legend medal from the Library of Congress, the National Heritage Fellowship from the National Endowment of the Arts, an honorary Doctorate of Music from Lincoln Memorial University and three Grammy Awards.
Dr. Stanley is also a member of The Grand Ole Opry, and even has a museum dedicated in his honor - the Ralph Stanley Museum and Traditional Mountain Music Center, located in Clintwood, Va. Check it out here: www.ralphstanleymuseum.com
